Description:
In the same way that eyes are a window to someone's soul, Miles wanted this film to be a subtle yet profound peek into the inner workings of composer Dustin O’Hallaran, who sees colour when he hears music.

To Miles, this phenomenon called synesthesia was as emotionally rich as it was scinetifically complex, and so the film would become a dance between art and technology, emotion and machine. A tender perspective on the brand's scientific endeavours.

And so, the film was shot on 35 mm to keep the film grounded somewhere organic. To visualise Dustin's synesthesia, Miles took inspiration from the way Mark Rothko would layer paint in his art. Using a hand-cranked camera, the film was woven into tapestry of colours, lights and textures - emulsified over each other.

This motif combined with a gentle edit, Dustin’s ethereal compositions laid underneath and a sound design that's made to draw you in - Lighthouse is not only a documentary or an ad but a visual tapestry you can use as a quilt to sink into – a wave that washes over you.
