As housing costs rise and living space shrinks, European DIY retailer HORNBACH wants to show that there is room for big, original ideas even in the smallest of spaces: To this end, HORNBACH turned the single square meter from a symbol of Europe's housing crisis into a canvas for endless forms of creativity.

Together with creatives across Europe, we designed eight installations on just one square meter – from a festival stage to a walk-in cloud, captured in a series of online documentaries. Proving that every centimeter holds infinite potential.
