Description:
The execution of the idea presented significant challenges, particularly the repeated on-screen depiction of a cop being slapped in the face.
After extensive discussions with the creative team about using VFX to simulate the slap, it was decided that the most authentic and impactful approach would be to perform it live.
This decision aimed to provoke a strong reaction from the audience, making them question the reality of what they were seeing. Ultimately, we wanted the viewer to ask themselves, did they just hit a cop???.
We had to find an actor who could convincingly portray the role, combining the necessary physical endurance with a performance that conveyed deep emotional complexity.
The 90-second single-take film, focused on simplicity, allowing the raw performance to drive the message home.
The film’s narrative arc showed the character’s transformation from a proud and stoic figure to one worn down by repeated impacts, ultimately delivering a poignant and authentic message about the police force's plight.
