When somebody mentions Eastern Europe to Western Europeans, most will feel the old Soviet-style stereotypes popping into their minds: poor cities with high crime rates, low morality, corruption, terrible service, bad food... all in all, a tourist nightmare.
Since Vilnius is not a well-known city, most people won't be able to picture it when it is mentioned. However, as soon as we point out that it is located in Eastern Europe, all these stereotypes are attached to it, discouraging potential visitors.
With this film, we wanted to attack these stereotypes frontally, adding a touch of humour and exaggeration and suggesting the viewer visit Vilnius to debunk once and for all those old stereotypes that still affect the whole region.
The campaign targeted exclusively England and Germany.
